Women of Faith
This past weekend I had my first experience at awomen of Faith. I traveled with 3 other gals from church to Omaha, NE. It was a great weekend. I do not know if any of you have ever been to it, if not your have to try it at least once. The whole weekend was about JOY!! Joy is an emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires. The speakers talked about how in their lives they have seen joy in the good times and even in the worst of times. One of the speakers, Tammy Trent, told this story "On a stunning September day in 2001, Tammy’s soul mate and husband of 11 years, Trent Lenderink, dove into the blue waters of Jamaica and landed in the arms of Jesus. There, alone on the beach with nothing but faith to hold on to." (this is the short version, if you want to read it all go to her website at www.tammytrent .com or get her book).
After she told her story she talked about how she had joy and peace because she knew where her husband was. It was awesome to hear how God comforted her in this time of her life and how even today God is using her to do his work her on Earth. When she knew he was not coming out of the water alive she found a quiet corner and sang praise to God and lifted her hands high. WOW! That says so much. Even in the valley she found God!
God is so good and is with us through everything.
It was good to hear the women talk about Joy this week. I seem to have been so busy with life lately that I have not stopped and taken the time to have any joy in my life. What fun is life if we do not stop every once in awhile and just sit in the moments of God's joy.
I guess that I encourage you to find the joy in your life daily!!
