Then there were 2.....

We have had a son and a daughter for a week now.  We are still trying to adjust to the change and every ones new schedules.  Dave has been home with me all week, and has been the biggest help ever.  Thanks Dave!  He goes back to work on Monday!  The kids and I will have our first official day by ourselves.  Please pray.

Mykala has been adjusting to Landon with some ease and some resistance.  The first day we were home, she had a tough day.  She could not understand why we had to give her new brother a lot of attention and she got jipped on our quality time together.  We decided to praise her for everything she did which was positive or something she would do to help us out.  The next day we saw a totally different girl!  We also spent as much time as we could playing with her.  She is now learning we still love her the same and that her brother is going to be here also.

I guess I cannot get too mad at her.  My mom always told me a story about when my sister came home and she would feed my sister, I would pull the leaves off the plant.  I would not just pull the leaves off, but I would also eat them.  I guess you could say I was jealous of my sister.  Things get better because now I love my sister!  It is a big change, and Mykala is doing good.  Dave and I have not seen some of her attitudes until Landon came along, that is the hard part.  We are dealing with new behaviors that we have not had to deal with yet.

The change has been fun.  It will be interesting to see how things change as we get used to being a family of four.  We are truly blessed by our children.  God is good. ~Kel

    Hello from North Dakota.
I have 3 plates that say "Compliments of C.J. Vander Leest Westfield ND". I lived in the Westfield area for many years and know that CJ Vander Leest had a grocery/country store in Westfield about 1915-20. Do you have a CJ Vander Leest in your family history.
Just curious. Thanks for any future replys.
Sincerely, a "dutch lady from ND"
